Media Relations for Novartis

Winner: Communiqué Awards 2012

We are delighted to be recognised for our media relations work in the UK for Novartis’ multiple sclerosis (MS) medicine.

Against a backdrop of media saturation with general MS stories as well as coverage  about the medicine itself, we were able to achieve the holy grail of media relations – widespread coverage of the same product at multiple time points with consistent messages.

Judges comment:

“A well explained strategy – strategically the most impressive of all entries, this showed fresh, tenacious thinking. It’s remarkable to find new ways to say the same thing over and over and to keep getting it reported – one story running on five separate occasions throughout the year shows incredible engagement by the media. Excellent work from a multi-disciplinary team.”

In total, we’ve now been back to the media more than 10 times, supporting it with an evolving narrative that has engaged journalists over and over again.
