Ever wondered what people eat across the globe during the festive season and holidays? Well, look no further, our GLOBALHealthPR partners from around the world have shared the foods they eat during their festive seasons (see the image below!). From pickled herring in Denmark to Shrimp BBQ in Australia, it’s interesting to see a wide-range of delicious foods!
Here in the United Kingdom, we have a type of pudding served with Christmas dinner called… Christmas Pudding (or plum pudding despite the lack of plums). The Christmas Pudding is a traditional, rich indulgent cake containing currants, sultanas and raisins. YUM! The pudding is aged for a month or more, and the high alcohol content of the pudding prevents it from spoiling during this time. It is sometimes “flamed” or set alight in an electric blue pyrotechnic display to burn off the alcohol and add flavour. In the UK alone, we consume over 25 million Christmas Puddings during the festive season each year. That is a lot of pudding.
